The roots of the seminar can be traced back to 1957 when Dr. Ivo Babuška (a young principal research worker of the Mathematical Institute at that time) started to organize regular meetings to promote numerical analysis and related topics in the Institute.

The seminar is held in Lecture Room 007 (Mathematical Institute, Žitná 25, Praha 1) every Friday except for summer and holidays.
It begins at 9 a. m.

Lectures are delivered in Czech or English depending on the speaker and the audience.

Notice: seminars are held in the seminar room on the third floor of the front building.
