OPENING OF THE CONFERENCE

It is our pleasure to announce that at the opening of MFCS 2001, Dana Scott (Carnegie-Mellon Univ., Pittsburgh, PA, U.S.A.) was awarded the Bolzano Honorary Medal of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, for his contribution to the development of theoretical computer science and mathematics in general and his cooperation with Czech scientists in particular.

WELCOME PARTY

The party was held at the Casino House, and included a visit to the New Spa, which is an old spa building, still providing the treatments. The pictures are from New Spa swimming pools.

TRIP AND CONFERENCE DINNER

We visited Monastery Tepla (first two pictures) and Chodovar brewery, where also the dinner was held (last two pictures).
