Workshop and Study group Mathematics in Industry
December 1-2, 2025
Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Žitná 25, Prague
Aim of the event
The aim of the event is to foster cooperation between industry and mathematicians working in academia. Within the Workshop (December 1, morning), several successful collaborative projects will be presented. These presentations will consist of a pair of talks given by a mathematician and a representative of industry. Besides mathematical and industrial perspective, the speakers are encouraged to describe the genesis and evolution of their project as well as gained experiences and benefits of mutual collaboration.
The Study group (December 1-2) will follow the Workshop. It will be organized as a 22-hour hackaton in which participants will work in groups on real-life problems. These problems will be presented at the beginning of the Study group. Participants will form groups according to their interests and expertise and will work on the problems with support of mentors. The groups will present their solutions at the end of the event.
Organization
The workshop is organized by the
